Dr. N. Anitha is a Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology at Sultan-ul-Uloom College of Pharmacy, Hyderabad, with over 24 years of distinguished experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and regulatory affairs. She holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from JNTU Hyderabad and has successfully guided numerous undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral research scholars. She has published more than 55 research articles in national and international journals, authored a textbook, contributed book chapters to Springer Nature publications, and holds granted and published patents.
Her expertise spans experimental pharmacology, neuropharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug discovery, and preclinical evaluation of therapeutic agents. She has extensive experience in handling advanced pharmacological research instruments and actively contributes to academic quality assurance, regulatory inspections, and animal ethics governance through her roles as CCSEA Nominee and PCI Inspector.
Her current research focus is centred on Network Pharmacology and Small-Molecule Drug Repurposing for complex diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's disease. She is particularly interested in integrating computational biology, bioinformatics, molecular docking, systems pharmacology, and multi-target drug discovery approaches to identify novel therapeutic candidates and uncover disease-associated molecular pathways, bridging in silico predictions with pharmacological validation for safer, cost-effective, and clinically relevant therapeutic strategies.
