The Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) is a standardised, computer-based examination administered by the U.S. National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) as the academic-knowledge component of the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Certification (FPGEC) programme.
Pharmacy graduates trained outside the United States must pass the FPGEE, alongside document evaluation and English-language proficiency requirements, before they become eligible to sit the NAPLEX and, in most states, the MPJE — the two examinations required for U.S. pharmacist licensure.
The FPGEE tests candidates across four broad content domains: basic biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, social/behavioural/administrative pharmacy sciences, and clinical sciences, presented as multiple-choice items in a single proctored sitting.
