About this programme
The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is a national licensing examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in India. It serves as a screening test for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) who have obtained their primary medical qualification from institutions outside India and wish to practice medicine in the country.
The FMGE is the licensing screening assessment for Indian and OCI candidates returning to practise medicine in India after obtaining their primary medical qualification abroad — evaluating fundamental medical knowledge against the Indian MBBS curriculum.
