Dr. B Guru Viswanath is a consultant microbiologist and infection preventionist with 12 years of experience applying clinical microbiology to antibiotic stewardship and infection prevention and control. He specialises in infection prevention and control, surveillance, healthcare quality, and healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and is an expert in laboratory diagnostics using advanced technologies such as proteomics (MALDI-TOF) and NAAT (PCR)-based methodologies. He also brings expertise in hospital accreditations, laboratory quality management systems, and internal audit, and is a CQI and IRCA certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015.
