Over the previous few decades, imaging has grown to a remarkable level of complexity. The evolution of imaging from one-dimensional (1D) to two-dimensional (2D) images, and subsequently from two-dimensional (2D) images to three dimensional (3D) models, has altered the field. This not only helps in the early detection of various crucial and lethal diseases, but it also helps in making educated treatment decisions about the follow-up therapy profile. Because carotid artery stenosis (CAS) has the potential to produce a major stroke, early detection is crucial. This course content goes into great detail about the technological advancements of numerous CAS assessment imaging modalities and their impact on clinical efficacy. Duplex ultrasonography (DUS), tomography (ct-angiography (CTA), and computed tomography angiography (MRI) are among these detecting methods (MRA). The current course content will provide an insight of the imaging modalities now available to assess carotid atherosclerotic plaques, with a spotlight on the significant role of multi-detector computed tomographic angiography.
